SHE COULD BE MONEY, CARS, FEAR OF THE DARK ,
YOUR BEST FRIENDS ARE JUST STRANGERS IN BARS .
the shrill noise of an alarm clock was what had woken up the soundly sleeping seventeen year old ginger. she wasn't happy about it, but because she had been sleeping for about, two days straight now, she decided that she probably needed to get up. with a groan, she blindly reached over to the alarm clock and ripping the plug out of the wall - which, along with her mattress, was on the floor - before laying in bed, a small headache coming on. her eyes squeezed shut before she let out a loud, and rather obnoxious groan before opening them slowly, revealing a messy, unkept room. her eyebrows furrowed before she squeezed her eyes shut again, wondering if she closed them hard enough if the messy room would turn into something else. maybe a decent, well organized room that actually had furniture in it. but as she opened her dark brown eyes again, the only thing she saw was disappointment. just like any other time she tried to make her surroundings disappear. after a few minutes of thinking, she finally got up, looking down at the clothes she had slept in. it was a pair of ripped, dirty jeans and a too big beatles shirt. with a shrug, she kicked off the covers before crawling out of bed and then over to where she had clean socks. next to the pile of mismatching socks was a small baggy, hidden in one of her tom's. she reached over and pulled it out, frowning when she only saw a joint's worth of marijuana. "ashhhhhhhhhhhher." she grunted, knowing that she would have to get ahold of her dealer in order to get more pot. with a yawn, she shoved the bag in her pocket and pulled on her thrashed toms before standing up and looking at herself in the mirror. "i look so friggin haggard." she frowned, pushing the bright red hair out of her face, looking at her own tired eyes before tugging the shirt up and over her head, and throwing it on her bed, knowing she would be better off wearing a clean shirt. especially if it meant she got to see him. okay, it was foolish of her to have a kind of crush - if you could even call it that - on asher, because he was a total womanizer who hated anything that involved the thought of love. however, she couldn't help but find herself taking a liking to the - who would have guessed - ginger. she had a feeling there was a completely other side to him that maybe not a lot of people got to see. and she almost desperately wanted to be one of those people. why? because he drew her in. she had no idea what it was about him, but he was very alluring. the way he always seemed to reject her only made her want him more. jordan knew it was pathetic, but she couldn't help it. she loved a challenge; and it seemed that asher was the hardest you could get. and it was safe to say that she was a very, very determined girl. well, when she wanted to be. and as she looked at herself in the mirror with the shirt she had just put on, turning to look at how it hugged her tiny, pole like body. she had always been skinny; and completely curveless, which was weird because she ate so much. but she didn't complain. as far as she was concerned, it made it easier to skateboard if you didn't have to worry about your boobs falling out of your bra or whatever it was they did when they were too big. after slipping out of her bathroom with freshly brushed teeth and crisply applied bold red lipstick, she walked through the house, not even bothering to look in the pantry for something to eat. she knew that wasn't anything there. her parents were out of jobs now, and they couldn't afford to keep food on the house and a roof over their heads, so it was one or the other. and, apparently, you could live long periods of days without food. jordan didn't hold it against them though, she knew they worked hard to keep a home for her. she loved them for it, and she hoped that one day she could hopefully pay them back for all that they had given her. they were both sitting at the table, searching newspapers for what she assumed were jobs, and she nodded to both of them before grabbing her board and walking out the door. she didn't want them to ask where she was going, because she didn't want to have to lie to them. they didn't know she smoked as much as she did, and she was rather ashamed of it. but yet, here she was, riding her skateboard to a normal drug trafficking place like it was nothing. she had known asher for a while now, and she was hoping that she could somehow charm the weed off of him for free. because she hadn't been able to hit up any of her buddies for cash like she usually did. asher was notorious for one night stands - not that she would know, he had never asked her to sleep with him - so she was hoping to play off his guilty pleasure. no, she wasn't going to sleep with him, but she was hoping of she was flirty enough, he would let her off the hook. after about ten minutes of skating, she had arrived at an alley way behind one of the main strip clubs in sydney, which was a hot spot for both drug dealers and druggies. not that she really classified herself as a druggie, though. she just saw smoking weed as a hobby, something that helped her relax, in all honesty. after receiving a few odd looks from the people entering the club, she walked back towards the alley, her board in hand. her heart was beating quickly, just like it did every time she paid asher a visit. and as she walked into the darkness, she felt her hand clutch harder on the trucks of the board, her limbs shaking. god, she hated going back here. she had so many stories, and she didn't even want to think about what she may have been risking by being back here. whether it was her life, or worse. she let out a deep breathe through parted lips before noticing a dark figure. she straightened up and walked over, her eyes recognizing the shape of the figure. a small smile crept on her dark red lips as she brushed the bangs out of her vision path before walking up to him and cocking her head to the side in an attempt to be cute. "miss me asher baby?" she joked, smiling a little as she looked over his features, hating how attractive he was. because as much as she didn't want to admit it, she knew she couldn't have him. he was way beyond her league. just like any other guy, really.
